Shade Your Stream

Do you know that one of the most powerful tools to address impacts to water quality and aquatic habitat loss is also one of the simplest? Simply allowing native streamside vegetation to grow and stabilize streambanks may be the best thing we can do to protect the places we love in the Little T Basin. Native vegetation and wide floodplains filter stormwater runoff, protect banks from erosion, regulate temperature, and is essential to the aquatic food web. No matter how big or small the stream, tell all your neighbors to just let it grow and to “Shade Your Stream.”
